Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Duty Manager to join our leadership team. This pivotal role oversees the smooth day-to-day operations of the hotel, particularly during evenings, weekends, and peak trading periods. As Duty Manager, you’ll be responsible for supporting all departments, managing guest feedback, handling incidents, and ensuring exceptional service standards are maintained throughout the property.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the primary point of contact for guests during your shift, ensuring high levels of satisfaction
Lead and support front office, food & beverage, housekeeping, and events teams as needed
Handle guest complaints, resolve operational issues, and escalate critical matters to senior leadership
Conduct property walk-throughs to ensure safety, security, and presentation standards are met
Oversee the accurate reconciliation of daily revenue reports and cash handling procedures
Coordinate emergency responses and incident reporting when required
Support the delivery of VIP guest experiences and special requests
Ensure compliance with RSA, WHS, and all relevant hotel policies and procedures
Mentor and guide junior staff and supervisors across departments
Assist with training, onboarding, and daily team briefings when required
About You
2+ years of experience in a supervisory or duty manager role within a hotel or hospitality environment
Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead by example under pressure
Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving abilities
A guest-first mindset with a hands-on, proactive approach
Ability to multitask across departments in a fast-paced environment
Sound knowledge of hotel operations including front office, food & beverage, and security
Experience with property management systems (e.g., Opera, RoomMaster) preferred
Flexibility to work across rotating rosters including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
Current NSW RSA and First Aid certificates highly regarded
