Responsibilities:

Assist in maintaining a clean and sanitized kitchen environment by washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.

Ensure that kitchen surfaces and floors are regularly cleaned and sanitized according to health and safety standards.

Dispose of waste and maintain proper waste disposal procedures.

Preparation Support:

Assist the kitchen team in basic food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and assembling dishes.

Ensure that all ingredients are properly stored, labeled, and organized.

Equipment Maintenance:

Help in maintaining kitchen equipment by cleaning and ensuring their proper functioning.

Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the relevant personnel.

Stock Management:

Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring accurate stock rotation and minimizing waste.

Keep track of inventory levels and notify the kitchen manager when supplies need to be replenished.

Adherence to Standards:

Follow food safety and hygiene guidelines to maintain a safe kitchen environment.

Adhere to company policies and procedures, contributing to the overall efficiency and professionalism of the kitchen.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth communication and coordination during service hours.

Assist chefs and cooks as needed to maintain an efficient workflow.

Qualifications:

Prior experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment is preferred but not mandatory.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively.

Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.

Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.

Food safety knowledge or certification is a plus.
