.Are you a talented and ambitious culinary professional looking to take the next step in your career? The Toxteth Hotel is seeking a Junior Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. As a Junior Sous Chef, you'll work closely with the senior culinary team, assist in menu development, and ensure the delivery of exceptional dishes.
Responsibilities:
Culinary Execution:
Assist in preparing and presenting a variety of dishes according to established recipes and quality standards.
Contribute creative ideas to enhance the menu and offer a diverse range of flavors.
Leadership and Support:
Work closely with the senior culinary team to execute kitchen operations efficiently.
Provide guidance and support to junior kitchen staff during service.
Quality Control:
Ensure that dishes meet the venue's standards for taste, quality, and presentation.
Monitor portion sizes and maintain consistency in plating techniques.
Ingredient Preparation:
Assist in ingredient preparation, including cleaning, chopping, and portioning.
Ensure that ingredients are fresh, of high quality, and properly stored.
Hygiene and Safety:
Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
Follow proper sanitation and kitchen maintenance procedures.
Menu Collaboration:
Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new dishes and seasonal menus.
Participate in tastings and feedback sessions to refine menu offerings.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar culinary role is required.
Culinary degree or relevant culinary certification is advantageous.
Passion for culinary arts and a desire to continuously learn and improve.
Basic understanding of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
