As a Senior Cook, you'll play a vital role in assisting the Head Chef in menu execution, kitchen management, and maintaining culinary standards.
Responsibilities:
Culinary Execution:
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and quality standards.
Assist in the creation and execution of menu items that meet the venue's culinary vision.
Menu Coordination:
Collaborate with the Head Chef to ensure consistent execution of menu items.
Monitor food inventory and communicate with suppliers to maintain ingredient availability.
Quality Assurance:
Maintain high standards of taste, quality, and presentation for all dishes.
Conduct regular quality checks to ensure adherence to recipes and plating techniques.
Kitchen Management:
Assist in the management of kitchen operations, including inventory control, equipment maintenance, and cleanliness.
Support in managing the kitchen team's workflow during service.
Training and Development:
Mentor and train junior kitchen staff in cooking techniques, safety procedures, and kitchen protocols.
Lead by example in demonstrating culinary skills and professionalism.
Safety and Hygiene:
Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations to ensure a safe and clean kitchen environment.
Monitor and maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation standards.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Cook in a restaurant or hospitality setting is essential.
Knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, and culinary trends.
Leadership skills with the ability to guide and mentor junior kitchen staff.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality dishes.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Proficiency in food safety and hygiene practices.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
